Principal’s Message

Welcome to The Catherine and Count Basie Magnet School of Multimedia and Performing Arts! It is an honor and privilege to serve as the principal. As an instructional leader, I serve with great passion and excitement to ensure that our learning community creates the best possible educational experience for all. In partnership with staff, families and community members, my goal is to provide each student with a positive, inspiring and rigorous learning experience that prepares them to be productive citizens and lifelong learners in an ever changing world. I believe in every student and I am confident that every student will learn and be successful when provided with the right support and opportunities. As our vision and mission statement proclaim, The Catherine and Count Basie Magnet School of Multimedia and Performing Arts staff will work to provide a safe and welcoming learning environment for academic excellence while fostering critical thinking skills that prepares students to overcome the challenges of society.

Our staff is committed to ensuring that our students discover their highest potential by meeting their needs academically, socially and emotionally. Our staff receives ongoing professional development in order to be creative and innovative designers of instruction that engages all students in their learning.
